Acumen Development Trust is all about making a difference in the local communities of the North East. Offering a unique approach to regeneration, I set Acumen up in 2003 with a board of Directors from the private, public and third sectors.
Now with over 70 employees, we are recognised at regional and national level as an excellent provider of services with a reputation for innovative work which is making real progress in helping people into learning, work and enterprise.
We play a vital role in bridging the gap between public service provision and communities by actively helping people into, learning ,employment, and enterprise in partnership with many organisations working together through the networks we co-ordinate such as Aim High and Wansbeck Works!
As well as supporting thousands of people through our main activities of learning, employment and enterprise we have also started a number of social enterprises. Some are subsidiaries of Acumen Development Trust and others are already trading as independent companies.
