Future Plans

Acumen is working hard on implementing its strategic plan to develop the organisation into a strong regional social enterprise with the capacity to meet the desire of many partners to work across more areas of the country. We have been accepted as one of the portfolio of charities working with the Impetus Trust who are venture philanthropists combining strategic funding and expertise to help charities to turn around more lives.

We are working with a number of partner organisations to submit bids for Learning and Skills Council and Jobcentre Plus funding to continue, and to develop the employability work we are currently delivering across the North East.

Our latest social enterprise is Possibility Place. This will be the enterprise that delivers training and resources to people to help them develop self-belief and emotional resilience. We are working closely with a number of charities working with homeless people in the region to particularly support this client group. Possibility Place was launched in July. Staff are currently devising and piloting training materials and marketing the product to a range of clients.
