Youthbuild House Before Renovation

Easington Youthbuild

Easington Youthbuild is a project that equips young people with the skills and confidence to gain employment, apprenticeships or further training in the construction industry and provides affordable homes for homeless young people.

Easington Youthbuild supports and enables local young people (aged 16 - 25) to work, live and contribute to the life of their community by providing local, affordable housing and training opportunities through the renovation of empty/derelict properties.

The project recruits and trains local young people, particularly those excluded from education, in construction industry skills through their work on these properties. It works to build the self confidence and worth of those on the programme and improves their transition to independence, employment and further training.

Karen Hyrons is the Youthbuild Project Manager and can be contacted on 0191 518 8810.
