Our Employment Team work from community venues to help people to move into work. Our advisers know the local area and job market well so are in a good position to help local people. As all our Employment Advisers are qualified or working towards an NVQ in information, advice and guidance, so jobseekers are assured of a quality service that is tailored to their individual needs.
Our Employment Team provide free, impartial and confidential information, advice and guidance which can include:
| u | support to access an ‘In Work Benefit Calculation’ for jobseekers to find out how much better off they will be in work |
| u | information about registered childcare in the local area |
| u | advice about returning to work after an illness and about permitted work |
| u | help to put a CV together |
| u | advice on speculative letters to employers who may have jobs |
| u | help to identify transferable skills to use when jobseekers are trying to ‘sell’ themselves at interview |
| u | access to browse job vacancies on the internet and in the local newspapers |
| u | telephone facilities to contact employers |
| u | signposting to specialist help to remove barriers in returning to, or entering the labour market |
