Unemployed People get their Passport to Employment!
In October in Peterlee town centre, Acumen Development Trust offered unemployed residents of County Durham all the tools they need to find the job they want, with their ‘Passport to Employment’ week.
Based on the Launch Pad Bus on Hailsham Place (outside Walter Wall Carpets) in Peterlee, employment and learning advisers were at hand to offer interview tips, confidence building, plus all of the practical tools needed to get a job.
Linda Robinson of Acumen said: “Unemployed people were able to call in and were given a folder containing a quality professional CV, sample speculative letters to help apply for jobs, interview tips, short confidence building sessions and anything they may need to find work.
“The idea is that within the week, people walked away in a position to apply for jobs and they will have all the support they need.”
