East Durham Jobs Fair a Huge Success

The East Durham Jobs Fair organised by Acumen Development Trust, with funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, proved to be a huge success on Wednesday 10th October.  Over 500 job seekers attended Peterlee Leisure Centre to find out about the careers, training opportunities and support available to help people to move into work.

There was a wide variety of full and part time jobs available, including contact centre operatives, customer service, retail, plus positions in other specialised industries.

Exhibitors included People Acumen, CAV Aerospace, Fusion, Asda, Cumbrian Sea Foods Ltd, Next Step, Pride Valley, Ford Manufacturing Components, plus the Army and the Navy.

Pat Anderson, from Acumen Development Trust, said: “This is the first jobs fair we have had in Peterlee for some years and it was a fantastic turnout both from employers and from people looking for work.

“Feedback from employers was that the day was really worth attending and job seekers also said it was great.”
