Bloomin’ Marvellous is Back in East Durham
Volunteers from Horden once again took part in Bloomin’ Marvellous to help clean and tidy up the area, on Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th June 2007.
It’s the fourth year of the project and every year volunteers come out onto the streets of Horden to work together and litter pick, weed and generally tidy up to improve the overall look of the village.
Local resident Lindsey Wood said: “Along with local residents, we rounded up volunteers from local organisations including Acumen Development Trust, Horden Parish Council, Informnorth, Bloomin’ Marvellous Landscaping, Horden Regeneration Partnership, plus local schools, scouts and guides groups.
The clean up came just in time for Horden’s entry into Northumbria in Bloom this year. It’s the third year in a row that the village has entered the competition, winning a bronze award and two awards of merit for Bloomin’ Marvellous and Cotsford Infant School last year.
