Aim High Network Raise over £500 for Macmillan

Nearly £600 has been raised through five coffee mornings held in East Durham to support people living with cancer, arranged by the Aim High Network.

The coffee mornings took place at Acumen Development Trust in Peterlee, Peterlee Library and East Durham College, East Durham Trust in Peterlee, People Acumen in Seaham and The Ark Centre in Horden. 

The money was raised through the sale of teas, coffees and cakes, raffles, guess the name of the teddy bear competition, a second hand book and CD sale plus through community groups making and selling gifts and keepsakes.

Shirley Wardle, Coordinator of the Aim High Network, said: “It was thanks to a team effort by the community groups and organisations that we were able to achieve so much.  Everyone involved, including members of the public who came along for a coffee, had lots of fun whilst raising money for such a good cause.”
