What is the eligibility criteria?

• The job must be new and additional to current staffing
• Be expected to last at least 26 weeks, a minimum of 25hrs per week and pay at least the National Minimum Wage
• Be of a benefit to the Community
• The potential employee must be resident in the North East
• Be aged 18-24 yrs of age, have been unemployed and claiming JSA for between 39-52  weeks or other long term claimants who are in areas of high unemployment
• Eligibility confirmed by JCP prior to engagement

What is the eligibility criteria for an employer?

• Be located in the North East of England
• Undertake that new jobs are additional to current staffing and expected to last at least 26 weeks
• Adhere to the National Wage Regulations and pay at normal rates for the business or industry concerned
• Comply with Employment and Health and Safety Regulations set by the Government

What is the Grant and how is it paid?

• Reimbursement of salary costs for 25 hrs per week at National Minimum Wage and Employers National Insurance Contributions will be paid on a weekly basis by BACS and on proof of attendance
